Dancer Program

Storybook Ballet Class: Level 1 is Ages 3-4 (Preschool & Pre-K) & Level 2 is Ages 4-5 (Pre-K & Kinder)  

A specialized 45 minute ballet class, Storybook Ballet is for our preschool, pre-kindergarten and kindergarten dancers, ages 3 to a young 5.  Each week, the instructor will begin class by reading a short story about rabbits, butterflies, frogs, etc.  The class then focuses on the story theme for that day by learning the basic fundamentals of ballet technique while also discovering their own creative movement.  Dancers will perform in the Captivation Dance Affiliates Annual Studio Showcase.

 

Jazz/Tap Combo Class: Ages 4-5 (Pre-K & Kinder)

This style of class for our pre-kindergarten and kindergarten dancers is a combination tap and jazz class.  This is the perfect place for young dancers ages 4-5.  The class will be one hour and focus for 30 minutes on jazz and 30 minutes on tap. In this class, students will learn basic fundamentals of tap and jazz technique including terminology, rhythm, correct body placement and posture. Dancers will perform in the Captivation Dance Affiliates Studio Showcase.

 

Tumble Tots Class: Ages 3-5 (Preschool, Pre-K & Kinder) 

Tumble Tots is a class for age 3-5 years old and focuses on learning the basic foundations of gymnastics. Each class will help your young dancer to develop hand-eye-foot coordination, balance, strength, flexibility and confidence!  Students will learn basic gymnastics terminology, while also playing fun games that help teach listening skills and build endurance and strength.Dancers will not perform in the Captivation Dance Affiliates Studio Showcase.

 

Hippity Hop: Ages 4-5 (Pre-K & Kinder)

This is a fun and energetic class is for young boys and girls to learn the basics of Hip-Hop dancing.  While focusing on dynamics, rhythm and isolations, dancers will feel free to express themselves in an athletic nature. Dancers will perform in the Captivation Dance Affiliates Studio Showcase.
